Start-Up Help Over 90% of the requests we get comes from fresh Start-Ups. Enthusiastic people, often young, that have got an idea how to make something to earn money from. Someone that wants to start market T-shirts or Hoods, or someone that is home with the baby and want to start manufacturing kids garments, or … so many different ideas. But after many years we also know that most of these people have no idea whatsoever what it means to make let say a garment start-up and how to make it profitable. But we know it – so you can learn from us. Typical mistakes are: • That it’s very easy – but manufacturing products on your design is not easy • That you can start with a very small order to see if it works. But minimum and basic costs (regardless of quantity) can stop such ideas. Often, they do not understand the difference between using a tailor and a factory. Small quantities work well for very special and manmade garments like some exclusive ladies’ dresses but will be expensive per item otherways. • They also typically want to come in contact with a factory not understanding that different factories have different specialities and different minimums and … If you want to buy a car, let say a new Mercedes and you ask for a car dealer you may get contact with a dealer for used Fiats or used Volvos or … but not a Mercedes dealer. When you want a factory its not any factory you want, but it’s the right factory. • Also, typically the first contact is a short E-mail just wanting a contact with a factory – not understanding that you must describe the product you want – every little detail of it.
